Adzuki Beans also known as Azuki or Aduki are small reddish-brown beans that come from the East where they are very popular, especially in China and Japan. They are characterized by a dark red color with a distinctive white line on the membrane, and taste sweeter than most legumes. Its stem is short and in addition to the dark red fruit, there are also black and white.
Nutrigold adzuki beans are a rich source of protein and are most commonly used in macrobiotic cuisine today. In Asian culture, it is mostly cooked with sugar to make a sweet red paste that is used to fill a variety of savory dishes and Asian desserts. It can also be boiled or grounded into baking flour.
It has an intense and sweet taste and can be combined as an addition to soups, chillies, rice dishes and salads and as a dessert with raisins and cereal.
It is a great choice for cooking because of its speed, simplicity and multifunctionality. We recommend cooking it with kombu seaweed to improve digestibility.

Highly versatile and can be used in sweet or savoury dishes like pies, rice bowls, stews or salads. Due to his sweet flavour, it makes great jam as well.
Like other beans, it is important to soak them for 8 to 10 hours before cooking, preferably overnight.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 45–60 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
