Cocoa nibs are fruit of Cocoa tree (Theobroma cacao). Native to South America. Criollo variety which is considered to be the best amongst them all and known as ''Cocoa Queen''.
Cocoa tree contains large fruits with 20 to 60 cocoa beans in each pod. After harvesting, beans are subjected to natural fermentation and drying process. After drying, beans are roasted for delicate and delicious chocolate flavour. As a final part of the process, beans are cracked and crushed into irregular pieces.
They are crunchy, slightly bitter, delicious and very versatile ingredient.
Ready to use as a baking ingredient, added to other foods or alternatively eaten as a snack.
100% organic cocoa nibs
May contain traces of gluten, nuts, sesame and peanuts.
Store in a dry, cool and dark place.
