Cranberry, lat. Vaccinium macrocarpon, is a bushy plant with red-fruited fruits, also called "berry jumper" because they are bounced when they are mature. Originally from North America, where the natives of ancient times have been used as food, medicine and for religious purposes. Because of its deserved properties it is among the most healing plants in the world. Three of the most common species are American, Mountain and European.

Apart from helping greatly in the prevention and treatment of urinary infections, it promotes urinary system health by increasing urine acidity and thus preventing the formation of kidney stones, containing strong antibacterial agents that reduce the ability of E. coli pathogen to stick to the urinary wall and cause infection.
