Curry is a British name for spice, more precise spice blend largely popularized during the 19th and 20th century through the British colonial era. Word "Kari" comes from India where it means- a sauce or soup to be eaten with rice. Traditionally is a blend of five to thirty different spices with a turmeric, coriander, fenugreek and cumin as a foundation even though other spices can be added to taste.
This flavourful spice blend is typically mixed with broth, coconut milk or other liquid to form a thin sauce that covers meat and vegetables that are served over rice.
