Wheat bran is the surface layer of wheat grain which is produced as a byproduct of milling. Bran is less known than flakes, but equally, if not more nutritious. Wheat bran stands out for its high fibre content (both soluble and insoluble) which is even higher than in flakes and grains.
Can be used in the preparation of various dishes. You can use them in the preparation of pancakes, buns, as an addition to salads and other cereals. You can also sprinkle wheat bran on smoothies, yogurt and hot cereals.
Adding too much wheat bran to your diet too quickly could cause digestive distress due to its high fiber content. Therefore, it’s best to start out slow, increasing your intake gradually and allowing your body to adjust.
Also, be sure to drink plenty of fluids as you increase your intake in order to digest the fiber adequately.
