Wheat (Triticum) is a well-known, nutritious grain from Poaceae family. One of the most cultivated and most important crops in the world. Fact is that around 70% of world's population is consuming wheat in any shape or form in their daily diet. Most of the time through baked goods, especially bread. Wheat is versatile grain and great source of protein and fibre.
Whole grain wheat is mostly used in pasta and bread where it is easiest to digest. Soak before cooking for 6 to 8 hours. Cook in water to wheat ratio of 2:1 for 50-60 minutes or until tender.
Can be sprouted into wheat grass or ground to make flour.
